God Broke My arm

God broke my arm

I won’t put any names on the characters in this story, because it could be personal.
But if your seven year old grandson came home from school with a broken arm, and his grandpa ask what happened and he answered “God broke my arm” The puzzled grandpa ask “and how did he do that”? and the answer is “well we were standing in lunch line and God made Johnny trip me and I fell and broke my arm” grandpa “and what makes you think God had anything to do with it”? Grandson “ well the preacher said God does everything, and he controls everything”
The grandson was referring to a sermon preached earlier in Church , called God is always in control.
When we get up in front of a congregation and say something we should pay attention to who is in the crowd, and preach to everyone.
You won’t believe how sensitive it is to convince a seven year old that a preacher either didn’t mean what he said or if he did he didn’t know what he was talking about.
The grandpa eventually convinced his grandson God was not mad at him, and that God did not make accidents happen, but that God does have ultimate authority and control. God did not break your arm, you don’t hurt the ones you love, neither does God.
Lk:12:6: Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
Lk:12:7: But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
Jn:3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Children are not the only people affected by such teachings, there are those who loose family or friends in accidents daily who ask why did God do this, then there are those of us who gather around and make up excuses why God did what he did, such as “ God wanted them by his side” “ they are in a better place” “God called them home” There are numerous other excuses we make up for God doing such a hurtful thing, or at least allowing this thing to happen. Why don’t we just tell the truth and say God had nothing to do with this tragic event.
Now we have the aftermath of another horrific event to endure concerning the welfare of our brothers and sisters on the gulf coast, another act of natural causes, not of divine intervention.
Why is it that we ask why only when bad things happen, If we believe God micromanages our life, why don’t we ask why when a good thing happens to us, why did this good thing happen to me? What did I do to deserve this good thing. I suppose that question has been asked, but I certainly can not remember it being said in my presents.
2Pt:3:9: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
The point is God does not control every little thing that happens to us in this life, he does know that we are exposed to danger every day and does give advise on how to avoid such things.
But as long as we are bound to this earth we will suffer the hurts and pains of this world, that is why we must live a life pleasing to God so we might go to a place where these things do not exist.
Romans 8: 17: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
Rom:8: 22: For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
When we think we are put up on, with no good reason, think about Jesus, but also know God will do away with all pain and injustice.
Rv: 21 :4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
